Throughout his time in Australia, Henry has been a dedicated advocate for peace and development in South Sudan. He actively supported the country’s separation from Sudan during the 2011 referendum and advocated for peace and stability when South Sudan experienced conflict in 2013.
Henry’s commitment to community engagement led him to participate in Australian local government elections, where he aspired to run for a council position in Victoria in 2016. His involvement in Australian politics aims to bridge connections between South Sudanese and other African migrants with wider communities, facilitating their full integration into Australian society.
Professionally, Henry has worked in the Australian Taxation Office and currently serves as a banker. Despite his busy career, his love for his country prompted him to establish the South Sudan Economic Freedom Advocacy organisation. As the founder, executive director, and CEO, Henry leads efforts to promote socio-economic well-being and poverty alleviation in South Sudan through advocacy and initiatives to foster economic freedom and development.
